微观－高珊个展@其他画廊l上海空间

其他画廊·上海空间很荣幸展出常驻上海的女性艺术家高珊的最新作品。艺术家为本次展览创作的新主题探讨了想象中的新奇有机体的世界，以及人类试图对这一世界进行分类、控制、了解的过程。
“微观”系列中的大部分作品都是用日常的发泡材料，艺术家对这些材料进行雕刻、上色，并借助其他非传统的雕塑媒介进行加工。
“微观”的三个系列都体现了人在乌托邦内外的旅程。“空间中的球体形态”创造一个幻想中的新生物，其中的微观宇宙被缩小，静静展示了人类存在的所有渴望和不便。“新生”将这种新生物植入科学实验室中，这是人类研究和控制的领域。最后，“阅读障碍”将另一个复杂得多的问题引入高珊的另一种探索体系，即拙劣地批判着自身的分类、解读、评估体系的人类。
“微观”是艺术家成熟作品的首次完整展示。
The OTHER GALLERY | Shanghai Space is pleased to present newworks by Shanghai based female artist Gao Shan. For this exhibition she hasdeveloped themes that relate to an imagined world of strange new organisms aswell as to human attempts to systematize, control and understand it.
Most of the works in the Microcosmseries are made of an everyday foam material, which the artist sculpts,colours and treats with other non-conventional sculptural media.
The three series combined in Microcosm in this exhibition relate to ahuman journey in and out of a utopia. Spheresin Space creates a fantastical kind of new biology in which themacrocosmic universe is reduced to a microcosmic scale. Newborns transportsthisnew biology into the scientific laboratory, which is the realm of humaninvestigation and control. Finally, Impediment to Reading introduces a third and far more complexquestion into Gao Shan’s alternative system of enquiry.
Thus, Microcosm is the first full-scale presentation of a complete bodyof mature work by the artist.
